Dr. Rafiul Islam Shuvo is a dedicated physician with strong clinical experience in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He completed his MBBS in 2017 from Rajshahi Medical College, one of the leading medical institutions in Bangladesh. Following graduation, he completed his internship training in 2018, where he gained practical experience in the management of a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.
Dr. Shuvo further advanced his medical career through postgraduate training at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where he developed expertise in Internal Medicine, Rheumatology, and the management of complex medical cases.
He successfully obtained MRCP (UK) in 2024, demonstrating his strong academic foundation and commitment to maintaining international standards in clinical medicine. In addition, he is currently pursuing FCPS in Rheumatology at the final part level, reflecting his continued interest in autoimmune and rheumatologic diseases.
Dr. Shuvo has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a broad range of conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, gout, osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, and other autoimmune disorders. He is also experienced in managing complex medical cases involving sepsis, diabetic emergencies, stroke, chronic liver disease, heart failure, complicated pneumonia, lupus nephritis, pyelonephritis, meningitis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and various other acute and chronic illnesses.
He is skilled in performing intra-articular injections and has special interest in the long-term management of rheumatologic patients, including monitoring disease activity, managing medication side effects, and improving patients’ quality of life.
Currently, Dr. Rafiul Islam Shuvo is working as a Junior Consultant in Medicine at Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College, where he is actively involved in patient care, teaching medical students, supervising intern doctors and trainees, and participating in clinical research.
Dr. Shuvo is recognized for his dedication, compassionate patient care, and commitment to continuous professional development. He aims to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology in Bangladesh and beyond.
