Prof. Dr. Kazi Shihab Uddin completed MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College in 2002 and then completed internship in same hospital in 2003. He joined government service as 24th BCS assistant surgeon. During the endeavor of government service, he was trained in internal medicine for 3 years at Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital (SSMCH) and 3 years of training in respiratory medicine as indoor medical officer at National Institute of Diseases of Chest and Hospital (NIDCH).

He passed MRCP in 2013 from London, UK. Then he quit government service and started as specialist in department of nephrology at United Hospital limited, Dhaka. After working for 13 months, he joined Changi General Hospital, Singapore as staff registrar in respiratory medicine department in 2014. He worked there for 9 months and earned fellowship level experience in respiratory medicine and internal medicine.

In 2015, he came back Bangladesh to pursue his career in academic teaching hospital. So he joined the well reputed Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital as Assistant Professor of Internal medicine from October, 2015. On 18th October 2018, he was promoted as Associate professor of Internal medicine. At the same time he was given responsibility of head of the medicine department and was elected as Convener of Medicine subject for final professional MBBS examination under Rajshahi Medical University. On 28th December 2023, he has been promoted to full Professor of Internal medicine.

• Managing and supervising Medicine department as Head at KYAMCH.
• Managing admitted patients I internal medicine unit and supervising Medicine and allied Units. Outpatient consultation at office hours and on-call.
• Teaching undergraduate students through lecture delivery, bed side teaching, tutorials etc. There is weekly phase IV and departmental integrated teaching session, departmental CME programs, grand rounds, journal presentations etc.
• Supervising medical residents of Oncology (MD), Cardiology (MD), Transfusion medicine (MD, Diploma) under guidance of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
• Supervising postgraduate medicine trainees of FCPS students under guidance of Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). They work here as full time residential medical officers and follow the specific logbook endorsed by BCPS.
• Convener and Examiner of Final professional MBBS examination and 3rd professional BDS examination for the subject Medicine, KYAMCH under Rajshahi Medical University. 
• As Phase IV coordinator KYAMC, I have the responsibility to reach uniform agreement with different departments (Medicine & Allied, Surgery & Allied, Gynae & obstetrics, Dentistry etc.) regarding students of different medical years for proper academic schedule, examination routine, quality control and administrative decisions.
